"Possessing all the advantages of an ideal location, being situated in one of the prettiest sections of Mount Gilead, the Haywood Hotel continues to be the headquarters of the traveling men visiting this section of the country and who are attracted by Mount Gilead’s very important and progressive commercial enterprises.
Under the management of Mrs. J. B. Haywood, the Haywood Hotel maintains constantly accommodations of the most substantial and comfortable character. The meals served to guests always contain a variety of choice meats and vegetables, the best assortment that can be secured in the local market, a great deal of the food supplies coming direct from the farms of the neighborhood and being therefore fresh and pure. The rooms contain clean and refreshing beds, the linen being changed daily in rooms occupied by transients, and all sleeping apartments are well lighted and well ventilated and otherwise present the very healthiest of living advantages.
The hotel is equipped with modern conveniences and each guest is made to feel at home.
Mrs. J. B. Haywood is a daughter of Mr. W. S. Ingram, one of the prominent men of Mount Gilead who formerly had the management of this hotel. She is quite a success in the hotel business, a fact testified to by all who have been to the Haywood Hotel. She has an interesting family: Walter Haywood, Stephen Haywood, Frank Haywood, Henry Haywood, Alvin Haywood, and Misses Lillie, Etta, and Jessie Haywood. To be a guest at this hospitable place is like attending a house party, for the reception and entertainment is so cordial as to make one feel to be in the hands of friends.
